Forum Mobility said on September 17 that it plans four new California heavy-duty charging depots with 30 megawatts of combined capacity. Reuters and Electrek reported that Tesla will operate public Megacharging at three of the locations: FM Francis in Ontario and FM Adeline and FM Coliseum in Oakland.
The planned depots are expected to combine Megawatt Charging System equipment with CCS ports and pull-through lanes. Forum Mobility's current network map lists the Oakland and Ontario sites as in development, so this is an infrastructure announcement rather than notice that the locations are open for drivers.
What it means for drivers and fleets
Public pull-through charging can reduce the need to disconnect a trailer during a charging stop, while a mix of MCS and CCS equipment can serve different heavy-duty electric vehicles. For fleets considering electric Class 8 operations, the announcement points to added charging options near major California freight corridors.
It does not create a CDL rule, vehicle mandate or immediate operating requirement. Fleets should wait for confirmed opening dates, access rules, pricing and charger-compatibility information before planning dispatches around any of the new sites.

A direct same-day announcement was not yet visible in Forum Mobility's public newsroom during this review. Reuters and Electrek independently reported the core announcement, while Forum Mobility's own site confirms that the named Oakland and Ontario depots are in development.
The companies had not published a complete public construction schedule, commissioning dates or driver access instructions for all four locations. Those details will require a substantive update when they become official.
