The Associated Press, citing court records and the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office, reported that a Sikh truck driver was attacked early September 13 in a restroom at the Bitter Creek rest area along Interstate 80. The driver survived and was heading home on September 18 after five days in a hospital.
AP and The Guardian report that Andrew Kris Bzdak was charged with attempted first-degree murder after being arrested in Carbon County and was held on $1 million bond. The charge is an allegation, and no conviction has been reported.
